As you know I use blender

The hardest part for me is trying to learn about nodes so I can make better materials for my models. And also I always forget about compositing. I try to avoid using nodes. I think well I will never be able to learn about nodes. I won't be able to learn about nodes if I keep that attitude up. So hopefully in 2021 I will learn more about nodes in blender and also compositing.

Its been aa long time since I have update this blog

I still use blender. And now I have a reason to make one project a week. I use blender to make a graphic for the songs I wrote. I have been making my own songs for over 4 years onw. And people have not been listening to those songs for even long. Ha ha. I have not finished even one car model with blender in 2020. There goes my dream of making car 3d models with blender.

I have not used gimp in a long time. And I am still terrible at using it. ITs the same with inkscape. I have not used inkscape in a long time and I am still terrible at using it.

I still use blender

When I posted to this blog a long time ago I used blender but, I only followed tutorials. I never made any projects of my own. I thought i needed a tutorial to make blender projects of my own. And then about 3 years ago I started making my own songs and to go with those songs I started making my own projects with blender. What I make with blender is not that great. Its more cartoon graphics. And I still have to watch a lot of blender video tutorials and get a lot better at using blender. I don't know that I will ever be great at blender. I do try. And sitting in front of a computer making art is surprisingly fun. I don't have the newest version of blender on my computer. I can still make are with blender though. Have a great evening.

Its been a long time since I updated this blog.

I might want to start writing posts for it again. Its been years since I wrote a post for it. Not that anyone misses the blog. If it were not my blog I sure would not miss it.

Dress

Here is an image of a dress I made in gimp.

A few months ago I read a book about how to draw fashion illustrations. I loved drawing fashion so now I draw a fashion illustration everyday in my sketchbook. so I decided to draw a dress with gimp.

This is my first attempt to make something in gimp that is not a tutorial on the INTERNET or an exercise in a book. I just wanted to make something no matter how good it is. If I don't start making my own projects how will I get any better.

For the dress I used box select, turned the selection into a path, used the control points to get the shape I wanted, filled in the curve. For the head, neck, arms, legs I freehanded them with the pencil tool and the mouse.

I need to post more for this to be a diry

But first I need to actually make computer graphics instead not making computer graphics. My favorite computer graphics programs to use are Blender and Gimp. Though I have not used those programs much.

I want to get better as a artist but, I end up only reading tutorials and a book or two and not making any of my own projects so that I can remember what I learned from reading a book or tutorial. I also think that I need to read a tutorial to be able to make something instead of figuring out how to make something on my own using my knowledge of blender or gimp.

My early new years resolution is to make as much computer art as I can in 2016. No, my early new years resolution is to make any computer art at all. Instead of wishing to be a computer artist I will become a computer artist. I cant make art by just sitting around wishing art will make it self. If I draw with pencil and paper everyday I can make computer art everyday. Maybe, I hope

first post this year, oops this month

I think it will be helpful when I make anything with a computer graphics program. I mean be helpful because if I don't make any computer graphics how will I get better at making computer graphics. I get stuck in reading or watching tutorials and not making my own project with the skills that I learn from said tutorials. So I hope to have a project finished soon.

Its been awhile

I know I have not posted much on this blog. I want to start making things with blender instead of not making things and if that happens I want to post the things I make to this blog. And so there will be more blog posts to come if that happens.

I read a little more of blender basics but, did not do any work on the lighthouse model.

Yesterday I did use blender, yay. I working on more of the lighthouse scene from blender basics. I used the Boolean modifier to make windows on the lighthouse. It was fun. You can almost see the windows and door in the render.
